Oak Center Homes

"Expanding Hope and Opportunity"

Vision meets reality
Oak Center Homes is a scattered site consisting of 89-units/properties targeted to families in West Oakland. The $10,000,000 rehabilitation of Victorian era duplexes, and multi-unit buildings focuses on preserving the historic aspect of the neighborhood while significantly upgrading the interior of the units.

A vision of a well-designed and implemented Community Development Center (CDC) with exercise facilities and gathering space for Movie Nights for Oak Center Homes members and its community at large is now a realization. The CDC has a Computer Learning Center with 14 computer workstations. After much hard work from all parties involved (most importantly, the Board Members) our Vision has met reality.

Oak Center Homes provides a unique opportunity to its members providing a range of critical programs and services that can inspire, enrich, and improve the lives of community members young and old. As a central community institution, Oak Center Homes provides sustainable services where they are most effective and accessible - right where our members live.

Celebrating Our Differences

Our commitment to inclusiveness and equality is celebrated daily with our diversity. With a clear and conscience goal to celebrate our individual differences, where all of us are respected, where our staff, residents who use services, as well as those servicing our properties, are all treated with dignity, we seek to continuously strive for an environment that provides everyone a fair opportunity to fulfill their potential without suffering discrimination or disadvantage.

We are all different from one another; our cultures, religious beliefs and creed, our genders, our race, to name a few, which makes up our community, making it a diverse and exciting place to live. By celebrating our differences and learning about one another, by treating people as individuals and placing positive values on diversity in the same community, we all enrich not only our lives but those around us as well.
